The purpose of this post is to allow our family and friends to keep track of our wanderings as we carry out our long-anticipated tour of Australia. The map beside this (sorry if it is hard on your neck, being sideways, but fits better this way) has some dates indicated, but they are only very rough.The important dates: We pick up the camper van in Sydney on September 1st, and head out in a Northerly direction, with a counter-clockwise intention. We are scheduled to return the van on Dec 17th, and fly out of Sydney on Dec 19th (in fact, all the way home that day!). In general, we expect to be in Darwin about September 20th, Perth a month after that, and Tasmania a month after that. Side trips to Uluru and the like are probable. A side trip to East Timor and/or Bali is possible. We are trying to optimize the weather/seasons, by being in each place at the best time for that place.
We will add updates to this location as we are able. I do not know what level of internet access we will enjoy. We are taking a laptop with us, so should post a few photos.
